Payroll Specialist

Location: Hybrid-remote, Sacramento

Our client is a purpose-driven organization that supports California’s first responders, the heroes of our state who work tirelessly against a variety of threats. The team is growing and is recruiting an experienced Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be a critical member of the team and a key contributor to support the organization. We are looking for at least 2-3 years of solid payroll experience, and exposure to a fast-paced multi-faceted organization where meeting deadlines and accountability are part of the culture and success.

This is a hybrid remote role in Sacramento, Ca. working three days a week in the office and two days a week from the home office.
Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Review time sheets in ADP Workforce Now payroll system
  • Process semi-monthly payroll within ADP Workforce Now payroll system
  • Prepare and process semi-monthly retirement benefits
  • Prepare payroll and retirement benefits reports, analyses, and surveys
  •  Assist in payroll/benefits audit
  • Update vacation/sick leave balances
  • Scan and file confidential files and documents
  • Supports all administrative duties in payroll and retirement functions
  • Assist the Accounting Department in other administrative duties and special projects
  • Support other administrative duties as necessary



  • High School Diploma, AA in Accounting preferred but not required
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel
  • ADP Payroll Experience preferred
  • Retirement Benefits Processing Experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Receipt and completion of COVID-19 Vaccination
