Our client is a branch of the California State Government that is optimizing self-service systems for Californians to gather information and follow processes.
The system is being finalized and the agency is seeking an experienced Data Scientist/Analyst who can effectively serve as data scientist for multiple initiatives including the Data Analytics pilot program, and our client’s Digital Services and Self-Help Redesign project.
In this role, the ideal candidate will:
Determine data needs for our client’s Digital Services to rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of consumer-facing self-help projects. In addition, the candidate will analyze Self Help Customer Encounter data sets to identify and prioritize case types and service types for the project and merge and clean individual court data sets. Work with subject matter experts to extract background, context, and detail necessary to develop data sets, and/or schemas. Create a sustainable data analysis plan with the project team to support long-term measurement and analysis. Assist in creating and iterating content for end-to-end services, based on user needs, on department-owned content, in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Remote role with possible 1 day a month travel to San Francisco.

Consider if you have the following:
Minimum 5 or more years of proven working experience in data analysis and business intelligence, reports design and development, with three years’ experience using R and Stata.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Must possess excellent time management skills, problem-solving skills, communication skills with a diverse stakeholder group.
